Marisela Arredondo is a native Texan, born and raised in Houston, Texas. At a young age, she knew she wanted to be an attorney. Marisela received her bachelor’s degree from Texas State University – San Marcos in 2012. She went on to attend South Texas College of Law – Houston, obtaining her Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2017.
Prior to attending law school, Marisela worked as a legal assistant at a boutique criminal defense firm in Houston, Texas. It was at that time that her love for criminal defense would be solidified. After law school, Marisela accepted a position with a boutique criminal-immigration firm in Austin, Texas, as a criminal defense attorney. As a defense attorney, Marisela fought to defend clients charged with low level misdemeanors up to serious, violent, felonies, while facing immigration detainers. Her unique experience handling criminal charges with a pending ICE detainer has resulted in favorable outcomes for her clients, allowing them to return home to their families.
In 2024, Marisela joined the Law Office of Jorge Vela, PLLC. Currently she handles cases ranging from first degree felonies to misdemeanor charges in Travis and surrounding counties. Marisela is also licensed in the Western District of Texas and represents clients accused of federal crimes in the Western District.
