Jorge Santos was born in Monterrey, Mexico and has been living in Texas for the past 27 years. Prior to his employment at the Law Office of Jorge Vela, PLLC, Jorge worked for Travis County as a Pretrial Services Officer for 7 years. Jorge gained inside knowledge of the local justice system, interviewing recently arrested clients to see if they were eligible for Personal Bonds. He would also investigate offenses and recommend conditions of release for individuals that were arrested for crimes in the Travis County area. As a pretrial services officer, Jorge also worked as a GPS/Electronic Monitor Officer, supervising clients that were released on bond.
Jorge managed large caseloads and monitored high risk defendants who allegedly posed a danger to the community. He worked closely with judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys to ensure that all clients complied with court ordered conditions of pretrial release.
Jorge is married and has 3 small dogs. Outside of work, Jorge loves to play competitive soccer and spend time with family and friends.
Jorge Santos is now employed at the Law Office of Jorge Vela as a Legal Intake Specialist. As a Legal Intake Specialist, Jorge is responsible for handling incoming phone calls and welcoming clients to the office. Jorge is generally the first person clients speak with when they come in for their consultation.
Jorge is also available to answer any questions that existing client’s have regarding their case.
